Two ResMed Leaders Named Heads of European Digital Health Advocacy Groups
Appointments include executive positions at MedTech Europe and beMedTech, both aligning with ResMed’s goal to optimize patient access to connected health solutions across Europe

LYON, FRANCE – 5 June 2018 – ResMed (NYSE: RMD, ASX: RMD), the global leader in remote patient monitoring, today announced two of its European leaders have been appointed as digital health executives at European trade associations, furthering ResMed’s goal to help optimize patient access to connected health solutions worldwide:

  • Lucile Blaise, ResMed vice president of Western Europe, is vice chair of the Digital Health Sector Working Group within MedTech Europe, which represents medical technology companies and national medical technology trade associations across Europe; and
  • Gijs Paulissen, ResMed commercial director in Benelux, is president of Digital Health for beMedTech, the Belgian federation of the medical industry, representing more than 200 local and multinational companies.

“Digital health has become a force in medtech, transforming the baseline expectations of the value that medical devices should provide to patients,” said Blaise. “I’m thrilled that Gijs and I have joined the leadership of two important groups serving the companies across Europe that are making a difference in the lives of patients and providers through digital health.”

“It’s so important to help guide digital health policy discussions on both continent- and region-wide scales in order to drive effective adoption and use of these life-changing technologies,” said Paulissen. “I’m excited for the work ahead, and for the patients and providers across Europe who will benefit from it.”

ResMed joined MedTech Europe in January 2018 and beMedTech in January 2014, backing its mission to make innovative medical technology and connected health solutions available to more people, while helping healthcare systems move toward a sustainable future.

“Gijs and ResMed are a perfect fit for leading beMedTech’s efforts to develop the digital health-friendly environment in Belgium that our member companies and our region’s healthcare consumers demand,” said Marnix Denys, beMedTech managing director.

“We look forward to having ResMed as a partner for us in Europe and beyond,” said Serge Bernasconi, CEO of MedTech Europe. “With Lucile’s two-plus decades of experience in the European device industry, she will bring a wealth of knowledge in driving the medical technology industry’s vision of creating more digitally connected healthcare systems.”

In addition to Blaise’s MedTech Europe vice chair position, she also sits on the Board of the National Syndicate of the Medical Technologies Industry (SNITEM), a French medical device association representing more than 400 businesses, and serves as President of SNITEM’s Respiratory Group.
