In recent years, strong demand and a digital transformation spurred ResMed’s growth. The company posted $2.07 billion in 2017 revenue, up 37.1 percent from 2013, when Farrell took over as CEO. The company’s market cap went from $6 billion to nearly $14 billion in this span. Farrell said the market remains vastly underpenetrated. He’s pushing big data to break through.

The rapid increase is to a large extent due to ResMed’s push in the market. ResMed has established itself as the clear market leader in remote monitoring of sleep therapy patients with an estimated 2.0 million connected patients at the end of 2016.
