HEALTHCAREfirst Enhances Medication Administration Record for Hospice Inpatient Care

Springfield, Mo. – October 30, 2018 – HEALTHCAREfirst, the leading provider of web-based home health and hospice softwarebilling and coding servicespatient surveys, and advanced analytics, announced a newly enhanced Medication Administration Record to streamline medication administration processes for hospice inpatient staff.

Designed to accommodate the “Five Rights of Medication Administration,” the enhancements provide an intuitive workflow that allows clinicians to easily schedule medication frequencies, add one-time doses, and put medications on hold; alerts clinicians of overdose warnings and when efficacies are due; and provides full visibility into medication administration and schedules across the care team.

“Inpatient care delivery has its own operational challenges,” said Sarah Balmer, HEALTHCAREfirst vice president of Product Management. “Our team has spent hours with hospices to deeply understand the unique scenarios they encounter. We’ve designed a user experience that truly accommodates their workflows. Our customers are really excited about the enhancements.”

“HEALTHCAREfirst has streamlined medication management and improved patient safety with these enhancements,” said Monica Schaff, RN, hospice supervisor at RiverStone Health in Billings, MT. “The documentation process is user friendly and easy, and I’m confident that patients receive the right medications at the right time and that medications aren’t missed.”
