“CSRC and its members are honored by this proclamation.” –Michael Madison, CSRC president and ResMed respiratory care product manager
SAN DIEGO – August 3, 2017 – Today is California Society of Respiratory Care (CSRC) Day, proclaimed in City of San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer in honor of the nearly 50-year-old nonprofit’s contributions to enhancing respiratory therapists’ careers and their patients’ lives.
It’s fitting for CSRC, which represents the world’s largest segment of respiratory therapists, is being honored in San Diego – home of several nationally recognized hospitals, a hub for medical technology, and the global headquarters of ResMed, a leading manufacturer of respiratory care products, including:
- Activox™ 4L, the portable oxygen concentrator with the longest-lasting battery (up to 10.25 hours)
- Astral™, the world’s only cellular, cloud-connected in-home life support ventilator
Recently, ResMed shared the story of a family able to travel the world despite the daily, life-threatening challenges of their sons’ Duchenne muscular dystrophy, thanks to mobile life-support ventilation.
“CSRC and its members are honored by this proclamation, and to have our leaders’ support as we keep striving to improve and extend people’s lives, while advancing the respiratory care profession,” said Michael Madison, CSRC president and ResMed respiratory care product manager. “CSRC programs serve more than 24,000 California respiratory care practitioners, researchers who uncover new treatments, and advocates who fight for policies that accelerate research and maximize patient access to life-changing therapies.”
